Matthew Lovelace brings nearly two decades of experience to his role of chef de cuisine at Pour Society and oversees the day-to-day operations for the Southern-inspired gastropub at Gateway Memorial City.

A graduate of the Art Institute of Houston's culinary arts program, Lovelace supported his studies by working as a line cook and later sous chef at Daily Review Cafe, one of the city's first seasonally-focused restaurants.

He has held chef, sous chef and manager positions at some of Houston's most respected restaurants, including Trevisio, Cullen's, The Rockwood Room and The Barbed Rose Steakhouse and Seafood Co.

In Lovelace's current capacity, he reunites with Executive Chef Greg Lowry for the second time. The duo first met in the kitchen at The Rockwood Room in 2009 and most recently worked together at Trinity, where Lovelace was sous chef.
